Who is allowed to study at SFI?

 

  1. Those who do not have basic skills in the Swedish language
  2. Are 16 years of age or older
  3. Are a registered resident of Luleå municipality and have a Swedish personal number

For log in, Bank ID or Freja+ eID is required

You need to click on Logga in to begin your application for SFI (top right corner of the page).

If you have a protected identity, then you must not log in. Contact us to book an appointment. sfi.vux@lulea.se

If you need help with your application, you are welcome to the reception desk at Vuxenutbildningen:

  • Tuesdays between 10:00 and 12:00 o’clock
  • Wednesdays between 13:00 and 15:00 o’clock

Make sure to already have Freja eID prepared on your phone!

Do you have a coordination number?

You can apply to SFI with Freja eID if you have acoordination number. Download the app Freja+ to your cellphone!

If you do not have a personal identity number, then you can apply for a coordination number with The Swedish Tax Agency. Enclose the Population Registration certificate from The Swedish Tax Agency in your application

You who already have a complete personal identity number are prioritized.

Do you live in a different municipality than Luleå?

First check with your municipality of residence which conditions apply in order to be able to study with us. Approvals from your municipality of residence are to be sent to sfi.vux@lulea.se

Information about course start

  • Day time studies – 4 hours per day on-site
  • Distance studies – Own computer and computer skills required

At SFI in Luleå municipality you will study 15 hours per week according to a schedule. If you have not studied Swedish before you will begin with a five weeklong introduction course. If you have studied Swedish before you will be summoned for an evaluation of your Swedish proficiency.

The school will contact you when you receive a spot at SFI. Ensure that you have given the correct E-mail address and phone number. You will receive information via letter or E-mail approximately 1-2 weeks before the course starts.

Remember to notify the school if you cannot attend!

If you have discontinuted your studies and want to begin studying again, you are welcome to submit a new application.

Study economics

Studying at SFI is free. SFI does not entitle you to grants or loans from The Swedish Board of Student Finance (CSN).
