It may be necessary to plan for fuel bunkering, since marina fuelling service may be limited during the off season (peak season is June-July). Groceries and other provisions and services are available along the entire coast. Guidebooks and brochures provide information on marinas, guest harbours and shops.
Many archipelago areas are particularly attractive and well worth visiting. For day sailing along the coast, we recommend evening stopovers in the Misterhult archipelago north of Oskarshamn, Gryt or St. Anna archipelago north of Västervik, in the archipelago north of Oxelösund, Stockholm´s southern and northern archipelagos and in the archipelago south of Öregrund.
Afterwards, open-sea sailing direct to Höga Kusten/Ulvöarna, south of Örnsköldsvik, is recommended. A more sheltered route follows the coast, with alternative overnight stopovers in natural harbours or guest harbours, e.g., Storjungfrun, Agön/Hornslandet, Brämön.
Following the coast northwards from Ulvöarna, your journey may be divided into 2 or 3 day trips. Along this leg of the voyage, we recommend the guest harbours at Järnäsklubb, Holmön/Byviken, Ratan and Bjuröklubb. Guest harbours along the Swedish coast north of Sundsvall are often small fishing harbours with limited mooring space but genuine charm.

The next opportunity for land contact is Arholma, a small island in Stockholm´s northern archipelago, with fuel, provisions and some services.
It is also possible to call at Storby, on Åland, for fuel and groceries. From there, it is about 200 nautical miles to either Vaasa in Finland, or Umeå on the Swedish side.
