Stora Stenträsket is managed by the City of Luleå Department of Recreation. Jonny Engman, the supervisor, lives in the nearby village of Krokträsk, so he is always easy to reach. He makes sure that the lake area is well maintained, rents out cabins, stocks the lake with fish, puts out markers along the snowmobile trails, etc.
He is also in charge when large groups rent the centre for fishing and recreational purposes. Guests are then invited to taste the best that nature can offer, such as fillet or joint of moose or reindeer, and, of course, a wide variety of rainbow trout and char dishes.
