There are eight cabins of varying size at Stora Stenträsket. In total, there are 20 permanent beds. There is no running water in the cabins at Stora Stenträsket and no electricity, the cabins are heated with firewood heaters. Some of the cabins have lighting driven by solar cells but in others you have to use candles. All the cabins are equipped with Calor gas stoves and crockery, etc, but you must bring your own bedclothes.
There are three outside toilets, placed between the cabins and there is two sauna. Just below the main cabin, there is a small bathing area and jetty. Provisions can be bought in Niemisel, about 25 km from Stora Stenträsket, and this is where you will find the nearest petrol station.
In the main cabin, there is plenty of space for visitors to get warm in the winter or make a pot of coffee on one of the iron ranges. The cabin is furnished with chairs and tables and there is a heating unit with hangers for drying clothes.
The newly built sauna by the water´s edge is open to all visitors.
