Outdoor life
If you enjoy outdoor leisure and the countryside, then Luleå and its surrounding areas are perfect for a visit. After only a short journey from town you could find yourself in the middle of a forest, fishing for salmon on the open sea, canoeing along a river or admiring the view from the top of a mountain.
In the summer there´s so much to choose between - fishing, hiking, canoeing, jogging, etc, and in winter there are fabulous opportunities for outdoor activities.
You can go skiing or snowmobiling on specially prepared trails and enjoy the beautiful winter landscapes. Or why not stop and have a barbecue and a cup of northern-style coffee, it always tastes much better than percolated coffee!
Even the Luleå Archipelago is accessible for skiing or skating, snowmobiling or dogsledding. And in the late winter, you can canoe between blocks of pack ice in the outer limits of the archipelago and feel the approaching spring and summer in the air.
Luleå has a lot to offer - and what could be more invigorating than a day or two out in the countryside?
