Hedenslund dwelling

On the outskirts of the central village, on the main road to Luleå, stands the former dwelling of the Captain-Lieutenant, Hedenslund. The dwelling site dates back to the early 17th century. In 1692, it was bought by Luleå and Råneå parishes for use as quarters for the officers of the Lifeguard Regiment. The building´s military era lasted until 1768, then it passed into private ownership.

The oldest preserved buildings on the property are the manor house and the servants´ quarters, both built in 1728. Luleå Municipality acquired the dwelling in 1996.
